Build on skills learned in UMA ice classes or several years of experience climbing ice, on rock or elsewhere to become an experienced and independent partner, prepared to lead water-ice routes. Ground school will include the opportunity to place a variety of ice and mixed rock/ice protection and create bomber anchors for top-roping or multi-pitch. Broadly experienced and/or AMGA certified UMA ice guides will share their tips and tricks with new leaders.
Guests will do "mock leads." A top-rope will be used for security while learning.
